Ingredients

8 ounces frozen whole strawberries

1/4 cup water

3 tablespoons sugar

1/2 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

Directions

  1. Combine the frozen strawberries, water, and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat.

  2. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries have thawed and broken down, about 5 to 7 minutes.

  3. Once the berries have released their juices and the sauce has thickened slightly, remove from heat.

  4. Stir in the fresh lemon juice to brighten the flavors.

  5. Allow the sauce to cool for a few minutes before serving, or refrigerate until ready to use.
