Ingredients
3½ tablespoons Peppermint Syrup
2 scoops Mint Chip Ice Cream
8 fl oz Club Soda
to taste Whipped Cream
1 Maraschino Cherry
Directions
Pour the peppermint syrup into the bottom of a tall glass.
Place one scoop of mint chip ice cream into the glass on top of the syrup.
Slowly pour the club soda into the glass, filling it nearly to the top. The soda will foam and mix with the syrup and ice cream.
Top with the second scoop of mint chip ice cream, placing it gently on the surface.
Finish by adding a generous dollop of whipped cream on top and crown with a maraschino cherry. Serve immediately with a spoon and straw.
Comments
This is a five-minute drink with no ingredient hunt—peppermint syrup, mint chip ice cream, club soda, whipped cream, and a cherry are all standard stock at Harris Teeter, Walmart, ALDI, or Kroger. The cost per serving runs three to four dollars depending on syrup and ice cream brand, making it an occasional treat rather than everyday fare. The real drawback is that it's a one-person portion that doesn't keep—make it, drink it immediately—so it works for a solo dessert or an impulse indulgence but not for feeding a family or planning ahead. The stated five minutes is honest and the technique is foolproof.
