1/3 cup quick-cooking oatmeal

1/8 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup water

1/2 banana, sliced

1/2 cup low-fat frozen yogurt

3 fresh mint leaves, for garnish (optional)

Directions

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water.

  2. In a microwave-safe cereal bowl, combine the quick-cooking oatmeal and salt.

  3. Pour the water into the bowl and stir to combine all ingredients.

  4. Microwave the mixture on high power for 1 minute.

  5. Remove the bowl from the microwave and stir the oatmeal.

  6. Return the bowl to the microwave and cook on high power for another 1 minute.

  7. Stir the oatmeal again.

  8. Microwave for an additional 30 to 60 seconds on high power until the oatmeal reaches your desired thickness.

  9. Stir one final time.

  10. Arrange the banana slices on top of the hot oatmeal and add the frozen yogurt.

  11. Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired and serve immediately.
