Ingredients
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup rice vinegar
1/4 cup ketchup
1 garlic clove, minced
1 Thai chile, stemmed and minced
Directions
In a small saucepan, combine the granulated sugar and rice vinegar over medium heat.
Stir continuously until the sugar dissolves completely and the mixture begins to simmer, about 1–2 minutes.
Remove the pan from heat and stir in the ketchup, minced garlic, and minced Thai chile until well combined.
Allow the sauce to cool to room temperature, then transfer to a serving bowl or storage container.
Serve as a condiment alongside spring rolls, dumplings, or grilled dishes. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
