Ingredients
2 cups milk
1/2 cup maple syrup
pinch Pinch of ground cinnamon
Directions
Pour the milk into a small saucepan. Place over medium-high heat and whisk constantly until the milk becomes foamy and begins to rise up the sides of the pan, about 4-5 minutes. Watch carefully to prevent boiling over.
Once the milk reaches a frothy boil, immediately remove the saucepan from heat. Stir in the maple syrup until fully incorporated and smooth.
Carefully pour the hot maple milk into two mugs. Top each serving with a light sprinkle of ground cinnamon and serve immediately.
Comments
This is a straightforward warm drink with ingredients stocked everywhere in Charlotte—milk and cinnamon at any grocery chain, maple syrup at Harris Teeter, Food Lion, Kroger, or Walmart year-round. Cost per serving is under a dollar, driven only by the maple syrup. The seven-minute claim is honest if you have milk and don't need to steep spices. It's a two-person drink, not a family meal, so fit depends on whether warm beverages slot into your weeknight routine; it reheats fine but is meant fresh. The one small drawback is that Vermont maple syrup (if that's the intent) feels seasonally misaligned to a Charlotte kitchen, though it works fine as a cold-weather comfort drink.
