Ingredients

2 leaves Swiss chard leaves

1 Pink grapefruit, peeled

1 Lemon, peeled

1 small bunch Fresh mint leaves

1 Tangelo, peeled

Directions

  1. Rinse all produce under cool running water, paying special attention to the chard leaves to remove any dirt or debris.

  2. Remove the peel from the pink grapefruit, lemon, and tangelo, leaving as much white pith as desired for added nutrients.

  3. Cut the peeled citrus fruits and chard leaves into pieces small enough to feed safely into your juicer's chute.

  4. Feed the chard, mint, grapefruit, lemon, and tangelo through your juicer in batches, alternating between leafy greens and citrus for optimal juice extraction.

  5. Pour the fresh juice into glasses filled with ice and serve immediately.

All five ingredients are stocked year-round at Harris Teeter, Food Lion, Kroger, and Walmart across Charlotte—no special stops needed. At roughly $0.75 per serving (chard and grapefruit are the bulk), this is genuinely cheap for a fresh juice. The stated 5 minutes is honest for a blender drink with no cooking or straining. The real caveat is shelf life: fresh juice tastes best same-day and degrades fast, so this is a breakfast-only or immediate-consumption dish, not a make-ahead for the week.
