Ingredients

2 teaspoons dried minced onions

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/8 teaspoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon dried parsley

1 cup plain fat-free Greek yogurt

1 cup buttermilk

Directions

  1. Wash your hands with soap and water before beginning.

  2. Measure out all ingredients and have them ready before mixing.

  3. In a medium bowl, combine the dried minced onions, salt, garlic powder, and dried parsley. Stir together until well combined.

  4. Add the Greek yogurt and buttermilk to the bowl with the dry ingredients. Whisk or stir until the spices are fully dispersed throughout and the mixture is smooth and creamy.

  5. Transfer the dressing to a container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.

  6. Store leftover dressing in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

All ingredients are standard staples at every Charlotte chain—greek yogurt and buttermilk are reliably in stock at Harris Teeter, Kroger, Food Lion, and Walmart, making this a genuine one-stop shop. At roughly 30 cents per serving (greek yogurt and buttermilk are the cost drivers), this beats bottled ranch by a factor of three. The stated 10 minutes is honest; mincing onion and garlic and whisking takes exactly that, no hidden prep. It reheats poorly, but dressing is usually consumed same-night anyway, and a sealed container keeps well for up to a week refrigerated, so leftovers work fine for salads mid-week.
