Ingredients

1 apple, cored and sliced

1 banana, peeled and sliced into coins

1 orange, peeled and segmented

1/4 cup fresh orange juice

1 cup low-fat vanilla yogurt

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Directions

  1. Wash your hands with soap and water before beginning food preparation.

  2. Rinse the apple under cool water. Using a sharp knife, carefully cut the apple in half and remove the core. Slice the apple into thin, even slices.

  3. Peel the banana and slice it into thin circular coins of uniform thickness.

  4. Peel the orange, removing all white pith. Gently separate the orange into individual segments.

  5. Pour the fresh orange juice into a small shallow bowl.

  6. Quickly dip each apple and banana slice into the orange juice to coat lightly. This prevents the fruit from browning and adds fresh citrus flavor. The orange segments do not need to be dipped.

  7. Arrange all the prepared fruit on a serving plate in an appealing pattern, grouping each type of fruit together for visual appeal.

  8. In a small mixing bowl, combine the low-fat vanilla yogurt with the ground cinnamon. Stir thoroughly until the cinnamon is fully incorporated and the mixture is evenly colored and smooth.

  9. Place the cinnamon yogurt dip in a small bowl and position it in the center or alongside the fruit platter for easy dipping and serving.

  10. Serve the fruit platter immediately, using the cinnamon yogurt dip as a flavorful accompaniment for each bite of fresh fruit.
