Ingredients
500 g chicken wings
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp paprika
2 cup cooking oil for frying
1 cup hot sauce
¼ cup honey
¼ tbsp butter
Directions
Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture, then place in a large bowl.
Season the wings generously with salt, black pepper, and paprika, tossing well to coat evenly.
Heat the cooking oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C). Test with a thermometer or by carefully dropping a small piece of wing into the oil; it should sizzle immediately.
Working in batches to avoid crowding, carefully place the seasoned wings into the hot oil.
Fry for 8–10 minutes, turning occasionally, until the wings are golden brown and crispy on all sides and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Remove the cooked wings with a slotted spoon and transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
In a small saucepan, combine the hot sauce, honey, and butter over medium heat, stirring until the butter melts and the sauce is smooth and warm.
Transfer the drained wings to a large bowl, pour the buffalo sauce over them, and toss gently until all wings are well coated.
Serve immediately while hot and crispy.
Comments
Buffalo wings are a straightforward weeknight win in Charlotte: all eight ingredients are baseline pantry staples or weekly buys at any major local chain, with zero special stops required. The real time is closer to 75 minutes when you account for pat-drying the wings and resting them before sauce, but the hands-on work is minimal and the dish tolerates a slow oven well. At roughly $1.50 per serving for chicken wings (assuming $0.99–$1.29/lb at Harris Teeter or Food Lion), this is economical for two, though wings have risen in price over the past few years. These reheat decently in a 350°F oven for a next-day lunch, and there's no fussy technique—just seasoning, baking, and a quick toss in butter and hot sauce.
