Ingredients
12 leaves Fresh mint leaves
1 ounce Fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon Superfine sugar
Ice cubes
4 ounces Club soda or seltzer water
Fresh mint leaves for garnish
Lime slices for garnish (optional)
Directions
Place the 12 mint leaves into a cocktail shaker. Add the fresh lime juice and superfine sugar, then gently muddle the mint leaves to release their aromatic oils and allow the flavors to blend. Do not over-muddle, as this can bruise the leaves and make them bitter.
Fill the cocktail shaker with ice cubes, then pour in the club soda or seltzer water. Gently shake the mixture a few times—just enough to incorporate all ingredients without excessive agitation, which could deflate the carbonation.
Strain the drink into a medium or tall glass that has been filled with fresh ice cubes.
Garnish the top with a small sprig of fresh mint leaves and a lime slice, if desired. Serve immediately while chilled and fizzy.
