Ingredients
9 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
9 ounces white chocolate chips
2 cups heavy whipping cream
1 cup confectioners' sugar
Directions
Combine the semisweet chocolate chips and white chocolate chips in a large mixing bowl.
Pour the heavy whipping cream into a small saucepan and heat over medium-high heat until it reaches a boil. Immediately remove from heat.
Pour the hot cream over the combined chocolate chips. Let sit for 1 minute to soften the chocolate.
Stir the mixture with a spatula or whisk until all the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
Add the confectioners' sugar to the chocolate mixture. Using an electric mixer on low speed, beat until the sugar is fully incorporated and the mixture becomes thin and smooth.
Transfer the frosting to the refrigerator and chill for at least 30 minutes until the mixture is completely cooled and has thickened.
Remove from the refrigerator and beat the mixture with an electric mixer on medium speed for 2–3 minutes until the frosting becomes light, fluffy, and pale brown in color. Use immediately for frosting cakes and cupcakes.
