This is a cocktail that checks the practical boxes for a Charlotte kitchen. Lime, mint, whiskey, and ginger beer are all stocked at Harris Teeter, Food Lion, Walmart, and ALDI; candied ginger is an easy find at any major supermarket in the condiment or baking aisle. The stated 10 minutes is honest for two drinks—squeeze a lime, measure spirits, stir, garnish. Cost per serving runs around $3–4 depending on whiskey choice, which is fair for a cocktail. The only soft point is that candied ginger as a garnish is not essential to the drink's function, so calling it out as an ingredient might oversell the ingredient list for newcomers, but it's a genuine nice touch that's readily available. There's no batch-cooking loss, no reheating question, and no fussy technique.
