Ingredients

1 tablespoon sesame oil

1 lb. salmon fillet, cut into 4 pieces

½ cup low-sodium soy sauce

½ cup water

¼ cup hoisin sauce

2-3 cloves garlic, minced

1 1-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and chopped

2 tablespoons honey

2 limes

Sesame seeds for garnish

Directions

  1. Combine the soy sauce, water, hoisin sauce, minced garlic, chopped ginger, honey, and the juice from one lime in a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth.

  2. Pour the glaze mixture into a skillet over medium-high heat. Simmer for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture reduces to a thick, syrupy consistency that coats the back of a spoon.

  3. Remove the glaze from heat and set aside. Preheat your oven to 350°F.

  4. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Drizzle the sesame oil into a nonstick baking dish and arrange the four salmon pieces skin-side down.

  5. Brush a thin layer of the hoisin glaze over each salmon fillet, reserving the remaining glaze for additional coatings.

  6. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven and brush each fillet with another thin layer of glaze.

  7. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 12-15 minutes, until the salmon reaches an internal temperature of 145°F and flakes easily with a fork.

  8. Remove from the oven and brush the salmon with the remaining glaze. Garnish generously with sesame seeds and serve immediately with lime wedges.
