Ingredients
1 can Refrigerated thin-crust pizza dough (11 oz can)
Marinara sauce (Classico Family Favorites Parmesan and Romano or similar)
Shredded mozzarella cheese
Sliced pepperoni
Diced bell peppers
Diced onion
Sliced black olives
Garlic powder
Italian seasoning
All-purpose flour (for dusting)
Cooking spray
Directions
Preheat your oven to 400°F. Lightly spray a large baking sheet with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
Unroll the pizza dough onto the prepared baking sheet. Using a rolling pin and lightly dusting with flour as needed to prevent sticking, stretch the dough into a large rectangle approximately 15 inches by 10 inches.
Using a sharp knife or pastry wheel, cut the dough rectangle into 6 equal pieces.
On each piece of dough, spoon 1 to 2 tablespoons of marinara sauce onto one half, leaving a border of about ½ inch around the edges to allow for proper sealing.
Layer the filling over the sauce: distribute shredded mozzarella cheese, sliced pepperoni, diced bell peppers, diced onion, and black olives evenly among the calzones. Sprinkle lightly with garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
Fold each piece of dough in half over the filling, pressing firmly. Using the tines of a fork, press and seal the edges together completely to prevent the filling from leaking during baking.
Place the sealed calzones on the baking sheet and bake for 17 to 20 minutes, until the crust is golden brown on all surfaces.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 2 to 3 minutes. Serve warm with additional marinara sauce for dipping on the side.
