Ingredients
1/2 cup bacon, cooked and crumbled
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 green onion, sliced thin
1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce
24 wonton wrappers
1/2 cup water
as needed vegetable oil for frying
2 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium optional)
3 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon rice wine vinegar
Directions
In a medium bowl, combine the crumbled bacon, softened cream cheese, sliced green onion, and Sriracha sauce, stirring until well blended and smooth.
Place a wonton wrapper on a clean work surface. Add approximately 1/2 tablespoon of the filling mixture to the center of the wrapper.
Dip your finger or a pastry brush into the water and lightly moisten the edges of the wonton wrapper. Fold and seal the wrapper tightly around the filling, pressing firmly to ensure a secure seal. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or wok to medium-high temperature until shimmering.
Carefully add a few wontons at a time to the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for 1 to 2 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
Using a slotted spoon, transfer the fried wontons to a wire rack or paper towels to drain excess oil. Repeat frying in batches with the remaining wontons.
In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, and rice wine vinegar until well combined.
Serve the warm wontons immediately with the sweet and tangy dipping sauce on the side.
