Ingredients

1/2 cup bacon, cooked and crumbled

8 ounces cream cheese, softened

1 green onion, sliced thin

1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce

24 wonton wrappers

1/2 cup water

as needed vegetable oil for frying

2 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium optional)

3 tablespoons honey

1 teaspoon rice wine vinegar

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the crumbled bacon, softened cream cheese, sliced green onion, and Sriracha sauce, stirring until well blended and smooth.

  2. Place a wonton wrapper on a clean work surface. Add approximately 1/2 tablespoon of the filling mixture to the center of the wrapper.

  3. Dip your finger or a pastry brush into the water and lightly moisten the edges of the wonton wrapper. Fold and seal the wrapper tightly around the filling, pressing firmly to ensure a secure seal. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.

  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or wok to medium-high temperature until shimmering.

  5. Carefully add a few wontons at a time to the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for 1 to 2 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.

  6. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the fried wontons to a wire rack or paper towels to drain excess oil. Repeat frying in batches with the remaining wontons.

  7. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, and rice wine vinegar until well combined.

  8. Serve the warm wontons immediately with the sweet and tangy dipping sauce on the side.
