Ingredients

3 ounces cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup all-purpose flour, plus more for rolling

1/2 cup fruit jam

1/3 cup powdered sugar

Directions

  1. Mix the softened cream cheese and butter together until well combined and smooth. Fold in the flour until the dough just comes together, being careful not to overwork it.

  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough to a thin, even thickness. Using a small square or round cutter, cut the dough into 14 pieces.

  3. Place about 1 teaspoon of jam in the center of each piece. Fold the edges up and slightly overlap them to partially seal the pastry, leaving a small opening in the center where the jam is visible.

  4. Transfer the kolacky to a serving plate or parchment paper. Dust generously with powdered sugar and serve immediately.
