Ingredients

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

8 ounces cream cheese, softened

4 jalapeño peppers, seeded, minced, plus additional slices for topping

4 slices thick-cut bacon, cooked and broken into bite-sized pieces

¼ cup mayonnaise

½ cup sweet-hot pepper jelly

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and shredded cheddar cheese. Using a hand mixer on medium speed, blend until the two cheeses are completely combined and smooth.

  3. Add the minced jalapeño peppers, cooked bacon pieces, sweet-hot pepper jelly, and mayonnaise to the cheese mixture. Stir thoroughly with a spatula or wooden spoon until all ingredients are evenly distributed throughout.

  4. Transfer the dip mixture into a small casserole dish. Spread it evenly and arrange jalapeño slices on top as a decorative garnish.

  5. Place the casserole dish in the preheated oven and bake for 20–25 minutes, until the dip is hot throughout, bubbly around the edges, and beginning to brown lightly on top.

  6. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 2–3 minutes before serving. Serve warm with crackers or fresh vegetable slices.

All ingredients are standard stock at Harris Teeter, Food Lion, Walmart, and Kroger; no special trips needed. At roughly $12–14 total ($2–2.50 per serving), it's reasonable for a dip, driven mainly by the cream cheese and cheddar. The stated 30 minutes is honest—jalapeños need seeding and mincing, bacon crisps, and cheese melts together—though closer to 25 if you use pre-cooked bacon. It's ideal for weeknight entertaining or a side dish, needs no babysitting once in the oven, and reheats well, though best enjoyed fresh the same night as flavors blur on standing.
