Ingredients
4 medium celery stalks, cleaned and cut into 3-inch pieces
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
2 medium pears, cored and cut into chunks
Directions
Rinse the celery stalks under cool running water and pat them dry with a clean towel. Cut each stalk into 3-inch long pieces.
Wash and core the pears, then cut them into bite-sized chunks.
Spread a generous portion of creamy peanut butter along the center groove of each celery piece.
Arrange the pear chunks on top of the peanut butter-filled celery, pressing gently so they adhere.
Arrange the prepared pieces on a serving plate and enjoy immediately with friends.
Comments
This is a dead-simple snack that hits on most counts: celery, peanut butter, and pears are all stocked year-round at every major Charlotte chain, and the cost per serving runs around $1.50 total. The five-minute time is honest—just slice pears, stuff them into celery ribs, dollop peanut butter. It's not really a meal for a family dinner, though, more of an after-school grab or light appetizer, and leftovers go soggy as the pear releases liquid into the peanut butter.
