Ingredients
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
5 sprigs fresh thyme
1 cup fresh lemon juice (from about 6 lemons)
4 cups water
1 to 1½ cups fresh blueberries
10 additional sprigs fresh thyme for serving and garnish
Ice cubes
Directions
In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and 1 cup of water. Bundle the 5 thyme sprigs together and secure with kitchen twine, then place into the saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is completely dissolved, about 3-5 minutes.
Remove the saucepan from heat and let the thyme-infused syrup cool completely to room temperature, about 10 minutes. Once cooled, carefully remove and discard the thyme bundle.
Pour the fresh lemon juice and 4 cups of water into a medium pitcher. Stir in the cooled thyme syrup until well combined.
To serve, fill individual glasses with ice cubes. In each glass, gently muddle approximately ¼ cup of fresh blueberries along with 1-2 sprigs of fresh thyme to release their flavors.
Pour the prepared thyme lemonade over the muddled berries and ice in each glass.
Garnish each serving with a fresh sprig of thyme and serve immediately.
