Ingredients

1 large Large onion, sliced into 1/2-inch-thick rounds

1 tablespoon Olive oil

2 teaspoon Cajun or blackening spice mix

Directions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F), allowing the grates to heat for 5 minutes.

  2. Carefully separate the onion slices into individual rings, keeping some of the natural layers together for stability on the grill.

  3. Brush both sides of the onion slices and rounds generously with olive oil.

  4. Sprinkle the Cajun spice mix evenly over both sides of the oiled onion pieces, pressing gently so the seasonings adhere.

  5. Place the onion slices directly on the hot grill grates in a single layer. Grill for 4-5 minutes until charred marks appear on the bottom.

  6. Flip the onion pieces carefully and grill the other side for another 4-5 minutes until golden brown and tender when pierced with a fork.

  7. Transfer the grilled onions to a serving platter and serve hot or at room temperature.
