Ingredients

1 apple, cored and roughly chopped

1/2 small avocado or 1/3 large avocado

1 cup packed fresh spinach

1 cup packed kale, stems removed

1/2 fresh mango, peeled and chopped

1 cup fresh or frozen pineapple chunks

1 cup ice

1/2 to 1 1/2 cups filtered water, as needed for desired thickness

Directions

  1. Add the chopped apple, avocado, spinach, and kale to your blender first, followed by the mango and pineapple. Pour the water over the fruit and vegetables, then add the ice on top. Secure the lid tightly.

  2. Turn on the blender and gradually increase the speed to high or the smoothie setting. Blend for 45 seconds to 1 minute, until the mixture reaches your desired smoothness and consistency.

  3. Pour the smoothie into glasses and serve immediately while cold and fresh.

All ingredients are standard stock at Harris Teeter, Food Lion, Publix, Walmart, ALDI, and Kroger—no special trips needed even in winter, since frozen mango and pineapple work fine and are cheaper than fresh. The 10-minute claim is honest; blending takes five minutes and prep another five. Cost per serving runs about $2.50 to $3.00 depending on whether you use fresh or frozen fruit and whether avocado prices spike, making this reasonable for a quick breakfast. This is genuinely a weeknight drink: it requires a blender and attention to texture but no stovetop, and leftovers separate overnight, so plan to finish both servings the same day.
