Comments
Every ingredient is stocked at any Charlotte grocer—tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, garlic, cilantro, and lime are standard at Harris Teeter, Food Lion, Publix, Walmart, ALDI, and Kroger. The real issue is the stated 75 minutes for dicing tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, and cilantro; actual prep is 10–15 minutes, with the rest dead time or the recipe assumes serving it cold after hours of sitting. At roughly $1.50–$2.00 per serving depending on tomato season, this is cheap, makes a perfect summer side or snack for two, and keeps well in the fridge for 2–3 days. The only caveat is that the time claim is wildly dishonest for a weeknight cook.
