Succulent peeled and deveined shrimp wrapped individually in bacon, threaded onto skewers, and broiled until the bacon crisps. The skewers are brushed with tangy barbecue sauce and finished under the broiler until the shrimp are cooked through, resulting in a smoky, savory appetizer or main course with crispy bacon and tender, juicy shrimp.

Ingredients

30 Shrimp, peeled and deveined

15 strips Bacon strips, partially cooked and cut in half

as needed Vegetable oil

1 cup Barbecue sauce

Directions

  1. Preheat your broiler on high. Soak 30 small bamboo skewers in water for at least 15 minutes to prevent burning. Wrap each shrimp with a half strip of partially cooked bacon, then thread onto a prepared skewer.

  2. Line a metal baking tray with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top. Arrange the prepared shrimp skewers on the wire rack in a single layer.

  3. Lightly brush the bacon-wrapped shrimp with vegetable oil.

  4. Place the skewers under the preheated broiler, 4 to 6 inches from the heat source. Broil for 3 to 4 minutes until the bacon begins to crisp.

  5. Brush the skewers generously with barbecue sauce and broil for 2 minutes.

  6. Turn the skewers over and brush the other side with more barbecue sauce. Continue broiling for 3 to 6 minutes until the bacon is fully crispy on all sides and the shrimp are opaque and cooked through (internal temperature of 145°F).

  7. Remove from the broiler and serve warm.
