Ingredients

2 medium whole wheat pita pockets

1/4 cup low-fat peanut butter, smooth or chunky

1/2 medium apple, cored and thinly sliced

1/2 medium banana, thinly sliced

1/2 medium peach, thinly sliced

Directions

  1. Thoroughly wash your hands with soap and warm water before beginning food preparation.

  2. Gently cut each whole wheat pita pocket in half, creating 4 separate pocket portions. Place the pita halves on a microwave-safe plate and microwave on high for approximately 10 seconds until they become slightly warm and more pliable for filling.

  3. Carefully open each warm pita pocket by gently separating the edges. Spread approximately 1 tablespoon of peanut butter evenly on the inside surfaces of each pocket, distributing it across both walls for even flavor.

  4. Divide the apple slices, banana slices, and peach slices evenly among the four pita pockets, layering them inside to create a balanced combination of flavors and textures in each pocket.

  5. Arrange the filled pita pockets on a serving plate and serve immediately at room temperature. Enjoy while the pitas are still warm and the fruit is fresh.
