A refreshing and zesty Japanese-inspired appetizer featuring succulent chilled shrimp arranged around a creamy wasabi-spiked dip made with Greek yogurt and mayonnaise. The dip delivers a pleasant heat from wasabi balanced by the cooling richness of the dairy base, making it an excellent protein-packed starter or light main course.

Ingredients

1/4 cup Greek yogurt

1/4 cup light mayonnaise

2 teaspoons wasabi paste

10-12 ounces cooked peeled shrimp with tails on

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the Greek yogurt and light mayonnaise until smooth and well combined.

  2. Add the wasabi paste to the yogurt mixture and stir vigorously until the paste is fully incorporated and the dip is uniform in color. Taste and adjust the wasabi level if desired for more or less heat.

  3. Transfer the wasabi cream dip to a serving bowl. If the shrimp were frozen, ensure they have been thawed completely and patted dry with paper towels.

  4. Arrange the cooked shrimp around the bowl of dip, fanning them out or stacking them decoratively with the tails visible. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.
