Ingredients
4 medium boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 2 pounds total)
1 tablespoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil
Directions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly oil it to prevent sticking.
Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture, which helps them cook evenly and develop a light golden exterior.
Arrange the chicken breasts in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly apart.
Lightly brush the top and sides of each chicken breast with olive oil using a pastry brush or your fingertips.
Season generously with kosher salt and black pepper on both sides of each breast, distributing the seasonings evenly.
Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) when measured with a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the largest breast.
Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, keeping it moist and tender.
