Ingredients

4 cups whole milk

2 cups cooked rice or egg noodles

4 tablespoons butter

Salt to taste

Sugar to taste

Directions

  1. Pour the milk into a medium saucepan and place over medium heat. Warm the milk gently, stirring occasionally to ensure even heating. Heat until steam begins to rise from the surface but do not bring to a boil, approximately 8-10 minutes.

  2. Add the butter to the warm milk and stir until it is completely melted and incorporated throughout the soup.

  3. Carefully add the cooked rice or egg noodles to the hot milk mixture. Stir gently to combine and distribute the grains or noodles evenly throughout the soup.

  4. Season the soup with salt to taste, stirring well. Taste and add a pinch of sugar if desired to balance the flavors. Adjust seasonings as needed.

  5. Simmer the soup for 2-3 minutes over low heat while stirring occasionally to allow all the flavors to blend. Serve immediately in warm bowls.
