Ingredients

3 cups water

8 single-serving bags green tea

3 cups frozen mixed berries

2 medium bananas, peeled and frozen

1 cup fat-free plain Greek yogurt

2 teaspoons fresh grated ginger (optional)

2 teaspoons vanilla extract (optional)

2 teaspoons chia or flax seeds (optional)

Directions

  1. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before beginning.

  2. Pour the water into a small saucepan and bring to a boil over high heat.

  3. Remove the pan from the heat and add the green tea bags, ensuring they are fully submerged. Steep for 4 minutes.

  4. Remove and discard the tea bags. Allow the brewed tea to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes.

  5. Transfer the cooled tea to a water pitcher and refrigerate for at least 2 hours until completely chilled.

  6. Add the chilled tea, frozen mixed berries, frozen banana pieces, Greek yogurt, and the optional ginger and vanilla extract to a blender or food processor.

  7. Blend until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed. Divide the smoothie evenly among four glasses.

  8. Top each glass with the optional chia or flax seeds and serve immediately.
