Ingredients

1 shark steak

1/3 cup all-purpose flour

1/3 cup water

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon Creole seasoning

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Hot sauce for serving

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F.

  2. Using a sharp knife, carefully remove the skin from the shark steak. Pat the meat dry with paper towels.

  3. Season the shark meat lightly on both sides with salt and black pepper.

  4. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, Creole seasoning, and cayenne pepper. Gradually add the water, stirring until you reach a smooth batter consistency. Adjust the water amount if needed—the batter should coat the meat evenly without being too thick or too thin.

  5. Cut the shark steak into bite-sized pieces. Dip each piece into the batter, coating all sides, then gently shake off any excess batter.

  6. Place the battered shark pieces on a greased baking sheet, spacing them so they do not touch each other.

  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until the coating is golden brown and the shark reaches an internal temperature of 145°F.

  8. Remove from the oven and serve hot with your choice of hot sauce, ranch dressing, or blue cheese dressing on the side.
