Ingredients

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

½ cup granulated white sugar

1 large egg

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

¼ teaspoon salt

1 cup M&M's candies

1 cup chopped dark chocolate (6 ounces)

1 cup chopped Butterfinger bars (about 4 bars)

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar, beating until the mixture is light, fluffy, and smooth, about 2 minutes.

  2. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the creamed mixture. Beat on medium speed until everything is well combined and fully incorporated, about 1 minute.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring with a wooden spoon or spatula until just combined—do not overmix.

  4. Fold in the M&M's, chopped dark chocolate, and chopped Butterfinger pieces until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

  5. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto lightly greased or parchment-lined baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

  6. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges are light golden brown and the centers are just set. The cookies should still feel slightly soft in the middle.

  7. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire cooling rack to cool completely.
