Ingredients

1 pound walnut pieces, toasted

12 ounces feta cheese

1/3 cup fig preserves

3 tablespoons heavy cream

1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Directions

  1. Toast the walnut pieces in a dry skillet over medium heat for 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently, until fragrant and lightly browned. Transfer to a food processor and let cool slightly.

  2. Add the feta cheese and heavy cream to the food processor with the cooled walnuts.

  3. Pulse the mixture until it reaches a smooth, creamy consistency with just a hint of walnut texture remaining. Do not over-process.

  4. Season with freshly ground black pepper to taste and pulse once more to combine.

  5. Transfer the spread to a serving bowl and create a shallow well or divot in the center.

  6. Spoon the fig preserves into the center well, allowing some to pool naturally in the spread.

  7. Serve immediately at room temperature or chill until ready to serve with crackers, bread, or fresh vegetables.
