Ingredients

8 cups water

1 cup ground dark-roasted coffee

2 cups Irish whiskey

1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar

1 tablespoon dark brown sugar

1 1/4 cups chilled heavy cream

Grated chocolate for serving (optional)

Directions

  1. Pour 8 cups of water into your slow cooker and add the ground dark-roasted coffee. Stir well to combine.

  2. Cover the slow cooker and heat on high for 2 hours, allowing the coffee to infuse fully.

  3. After the brewing time, stir in the 2 cups of Irish whiskey and 1/2 cup of packed dark brown sugar until the sugar dissolves completely.

  4. In a separate bowl, whip the 1 1/4 cups of chilled heavy cream with the remaining 1 tablespoon of dark brown sugar until soft peaks form.

  5. Pour the hot Irish coffee into serving mugs and top each with a generous dollop of the sweetened whipped cream.

  6. Garnish with grated chocolate if desired and serve immediately while hot.
