Ingredients
1 cup Green peas, boiled and mashed
½ cup Boiled potatoes, mashed
1 cup Paneer cheese, crumbled
4 Green chilies, finely chopped
¼ cup Fresh cilantro, finely chopped
¼ cup Panko breadcrumbs
Salt to taste
Oil for shallow frying
8 Burger buns
as needed Mayonnaise
8 Fresh lettuce leaves
8 slices Tomato slices
8 slices Sliced onion
Ketchup (optional)
Directions
In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed green peas, mashed potatoes, crumbled paneer, chopped green chilies, chopped cilantro, and panko breadcrumbs. Add salt to taste and mix thoroughly until the ingredients are evenly combined.
Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions. Shape each portion into a compact ball, then gently flatten it into a patty approximately ½ inch thick. Set the patties aside on a plate.
Heat oil in a large skillet or shallow pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the patties in the pan and shallow-fry until they are golden brown, about 3–4 minutes per side. Remove the cooked patties and drain briefly on a paper towel.
Lightly toast the burger buns on a griddle or in a dry pan until golden. Spread mayonnaise on the bottom bun, then layer a lettuce leaf, one cooked pea patty, one slice of onion, and one or two slices of tomato.
Add ketchup to the burger if desired. Place the top bun on the burger and serve immediately while warm.
