Ingredients
1/2 cup softened butter
1 box (14.5 ounces) gingerbread cake mix
1 large egg
1/2 cup caramel pieces or bits
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
Directions
Preheat your oven to 350°F.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the gingerbread cake mix, softened butter, and egg. Stir until a thick dough forms. Line an 8x8-inch baking pan with aluminum foil and lightly spray the foil with cooking spray. Press approximately two-thirds of the dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
Distribute the caramel pieces evenly over the dough layer. Pour the sweetened condensed milk over the caramel pieces.
Divide the remaining dough into 9 equal portions and roll each into a ball. Arrange the dough balls evenly across the top of the condensed milk layer. Gently press each ball down to flatten slightly.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the top is golden brown. Remove from the oven and allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before cutting and serving.
