Ingredients

2 cups water

1 cup buckwheat groats

½ teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Pour 2 cups of water into a small pot and bring to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.

  2. Add the buckwheat groats and salt to the boiling water, stirring gently to combine.

  3. Return the mixture to a boil, then immediately reduce the heat to low.

  4. Cover the pot with a lid and simmer gently for 10 to 15 minutes, until the groats are tender and have absorbed most of the water.

  5. Remove from heat. If any water remains in the pot, carefully drain it off using a fine-mesh strainer.

  6. Fluff the buckwheat with a fork and serve warm.
