Ingredients
1/2 tsp active dry yeast
1/4 tsp granulated sugar
1/2 C warm water (heated to 115°F)
1 1/4 C all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp salt
1 Tbsp olive oil, if needed
3 Tbsp pizza sauce
3 Tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
1 1/2 C shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
3-4 slices bacon, cooked and chopped
1/2 C ham, roughly chopped
1/2 C hot sausage, cooked and crumbled
1/4 C pepperoni slices
Ground black pepper to taste
Directions
Warm the water to 160°F. In a small bowl, combine the warm water, active dry yeast, and granulated sugar. Stir gently to combine and let sit for about 5 minutes until the yeast becomes foamy, indicating it is active.
In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. With the mixer running on low speed, slowly pour the yeast mixture into the flour. Once combined, increase the mixer speed to medium and knead for about 5-7 minutes, adding olive oil if the dough appears too dry. Continue until a smooth ball of dough forms and pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
Transfer the dough to a lightly greased bowl, turning it to coat with a thin layer of oil. Cover the bowl with a clean kitchen towel and place in a warm location. Allow the dough to rise until it has roughly doubled in size, approximately 1 hour.
While the dough is rising, cook the bacon strips in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 8-10 minutes. Remove and chop into small pieces. In the same skillet, brown the hot sausage over medium heat until fully cooked, breaking it into crumbles as it cooks, about 8-10 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed. Roughly chop the ham into small pieces.
Preheat your oven to 425°F. Lightly grease a baking sheet with olive oil.
Once the dough has doubled, turn it out onto a work surface and gently shape it into a pizza crust of your desired thickness and size, using your hands or a rolling pin. Transfer the shaped dough to the prepared baking sheet.
Spoon the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges for the crust. Using the back of a spoon, spread the sauce gently across the surface.
Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese (about 3/4 cup) evenly over the sauce. Then sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese on top.
Distribute the cooked and chopped bacon, chopped ham, cooked sausage crumbles, and pepperoni slices evenly across the pizza. Finish by sprinkling the remaining mozzarella cheese (about 3/4 cup) over the meat toppings, and season with ground black pepper to taste.
Bake in the preheated 425°F oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly. The internal temperature of the baked goods should reach at least 160°F if there are any egg-enriched components.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 2-3 minutes before slicing and serving.
