Ingredients

10 Fresh lemons

1¼ cups Granulated sugar

5 cups Water

½ tablespoon Beetroot juice

Directions

  1. Using a vegetable peeler or zester, carefully remove thin strips of zest from one lemon, avoiding the white pith. Juice all 10 lemons to extract the fresh juice.

  2. In a saucepan, combine the fresh lemon juice, granulated sugar, lemon zest strips, and water. Bring the mixture to a gentle heat, stirring occasionally, until all the sugar has completely dissolved.

  3. Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool to room temperature. Once cooled, strain the liquid through a fine-mesh sieve to remove the lemon zest and any pulp. Stir in the beetroot juice gradually until you achieve your desired shade of pink.

  4. Transfer the lemonade to a pitcher and refrigerate until well chilled. Serve over ice cubes in tall glasses, garnished with fresh lemon slices if desired.
