Ingredients
1 pound rotini or macaroni pasta
1 can (12 ounces) canned chicken, drained
1 can (15 ounces) low-sodium tomato sauce
1/2 can (about 8 ounces) low-sodium green peas, drained
3 slices pasteurized processed American cheese
Directions
Preheat your oven to 350°F.
Bring a large pot of water to a boil and cook the rotini or macaroni according to the package directions until just tender. Drain the pasta thoroughly in a colander.
In a large oven-safe casserole dish, combine the drained canned chicken, tomato sauce, drained green peas, and cooked pasta. Stir gently until well mixed.
Arrange the 3 slices of American cheese evenly over the top of the casserole mixture.
Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake uncovered for 30 to 40 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the top is lightly golden.
Remove from the oven and let rest for a few minutes before serving hot.
