Ingredients

1½ teaspoons dried basil leaves

½ teaspoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon light brown sugar

2 tablespoons olive oil

½ teaspoon salt

6 cups assorted fresh vegetables, cut into grill-friendly pieces (such as asparagus spears, bell pepper chunks, zucchini rounds, yellow squash rounds, red onion wedges, and small sweet potato cubes)

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the dried basil, garlic powder, light brown sugar, and salt to create the seasoning blend. Set aside.

  2. In a large bowl, drizzle the olive oil over the cut vegetables and toss gently until all pieces are well coated with oil.

  3. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture over the oiled vegetables and toss thoroughly until every piece is evenly coated with the herb and spice blend.

  4. Transfer the seasoned vegetables to a grill basket, grill rack, or thread them onto metal skewers for even cooking.

  5. Place on the grill over medium heat and cook for 10–12 minutes, turning the vegetables occasionally with tongs or by shaking the basket to ensure even browning and tenderness throughout.
