Ingredients

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

4 salmon fillets

½ teaspoon cayenne pepper

½ teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon garlic granules

1 teaspoon ground cumin

½ teaspoon dried oregano

½ teaspoon dried thyme

1 teaspoon sea salt

Directions

  1. Brush the vegetable oil evenly over all four salmon fillets, ensuring they are completely coated on both sides.

  2. In a small bowl, combine the cayenne pepper, smoked paprika, garlic granules, ground cumin, dried oregano, dried thyme, and sea salt. Stir until well mixed.

  3. Pat each salmon fillet dry with paper towels. Generously apply the Cajun spice mixture to all sides of each fillet, pressing gently so the seasonings adhere. Allow the seasoned salmon to rest for 10 minutes at room temperature.

  4. Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium heat.

  5. Carefully place the seasoned salmon fillets onto the hot grill. Cook for approximately 5 minutes on the first side without moving them.

  6. Flip the salmon and cook for another 4–5 minutes on the second side, depending on the thickness of your fillets. Monitor closely to prevent the spices from burning.

  7. The salmon is ready when the flesh flakes easily when tested with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145°F at the thickest point. Remove from the grill and serve immediately.
