Ingredients
4 Medium baking apples
½ cup Quick-cooking oatmeal (uncooked)
¼ cup Light or dark brown sugar
2 teaspoons Ground cinnamon
100% pure apple juice
4 sprays Non-stick cooking spray
Directions
Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. Position the oven rack to the center of the oven and preheat to 350°F.
Coat the bottom and all sides of a 9-inch square baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
Rinse the apples under cool water. Peel, core, and cut them into thin, even slices.
Layer the apple slices evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
In a small bowl, combine the oatmeal, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon using a fork until well mixed.
Distribute the oatmeal mixture evenly over the layer of apples.
Slowly pour the apple juice over the oatmeal topping, distributing it gently throughout.
Cover the baking dish with a lid or aluminum foil and bake for 20 to 30 minutes until the apples begin to soften and release their juices.
Remove the cover and continue baking for 15 to 20 minutes more, until the apples are completely soft and the oatmeal topping is lightly golden.
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. The dessert is ready when apples are fork-tender.
