Ingredients
2 bunches (small) Fresh mint leaves
¼ cup Fresh lime juice
6 teaspoons Agave nectar
2½ cups Sparkling water
Crushed ice
Directions
Gently tear the mint leaves by hand to release their aromatic oils, then divide evenly between two tall glasses.
Pour half of the fresh lime juice into each glass over the mint leaves.
Add 3 teaspoons of agave nectar to each glass and stir well until the sweetener is fully dissolved.
Fill each glass with crushed ice, if using, leaving about 1 inch of space at the top.
Top each glass with sparkling water, pouring slowly to preserve the carbonation, and stir gently to combine.
Serve immediately and enjoy while cold and fizzy.
Comments
Every ingredient is a staple at any Charlotte grocery chain—mint and limes are year-round, agave and sparkling water are ubiquitous—so no special trips required. At roughly 75 cents to a dollar per serving, this is genuinely cheap, driven only by lime juice and agave. The stated 5 minutes is honest; there's no hidden chopping or dissolution time. It's a refreshing same-night drink that doesn't reheat, but that's the point—it's meant to be consumed fresh, and two servings is a reasonable batch for a couple or quick afternoon refreshment.
