Ingredients
4 medium apples, cored and sliced
1/4 cup quick-cooking oatmeal
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1/4 cup margarine, cut into small pieces
Directions
Preheat your oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9x9-inch square baking pan.
Wash the apples, remove the cores, and slice them into thin, even pieces.
Arrange the sliced apples in an even layer on the bottom of the prepared baking pan.
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the oatmeal, flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
Add the margarine pieces to the dry mixture and use two knives to cut it in, working the mixture until it resembles coarse breadcrumbs with small pea-sized pieces of margarine throughout.
Sprinkle the crumble mixture evenly over the apples, covering them completely.
Bake for approximately 20 minutes, until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender when pierced with a fork.
Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving warm.
