Ingredients
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon instant yeast
1 1/2 cups warm water
5 tablespoons olive oil, divided
1 1/4 teaspoons salt
3/4 cup marinara sauce
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Assorted pizza toppings such as pepperoni, mushrooms, and olives
Directions
Grease a 13x9-inch metal baking pan with 1 1/2 tablespoons of olive oil. In a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, combine the warm water, 3 tablespoons olive oil, salt, flour, and yeast. Mix on medium speed for about 1 minute until just combined into a sticky dough.
Transfer the sticky dough into the prepared baking pan, spreading it gently to fill the pan. Cover the pan with plastic wrap and allow it to rest at room temperature for 1 hour until the dough has puffed and risen noticeably.
Preheat your oven to 375°F. Using your fingertips, gently poke the surface of the dough all over to create dimples. Drizzle the top with the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
Bake the focaccia for 20 to 25 minutes until the top is golden brown. Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 5 minutes.
Transfer the focaccia bread onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spread the marinara sauce evenly over the top, then sprinkle with the shredded mozzarella cheese. Arrange your chosen pizza toppings over the cheese.
Return the focaccia to the oven for an additional 5 minutes until the cheese has melted completely. Remove from the oven, slice into portions, and serve while hot.
