Ingredients

1 can Pillsbury® Crescent Rolls

1 Granny Smith apple, peeled, cored, and diced into small cubes

¼ cup granulated sugar

¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon

pinch Pinch of ground nutmeg

¼ cup water

1 teaspoon cornstarch

2 ounces cream cheese, room temperature

2 tablespoons whole milk

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat and set aside.

  2. In a small saucepan, combine the diced apple, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and water. Place over medium-high heat and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir frequently and cook for about 10 minutes until the apple pieces are very tender.

  3. In a small cup, whisk together the cornstarch and water until smooth with no lumps.

  4. Pour the cornstarch mixture into the simmering apple mixture and stir well to combine. Continue cooking for approximately 3 minutes, stirring often, until the filling thickens. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

  5. Unroll the can of crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 individual triangles. Lay them flat on your prepared baking sheet.

  6. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the apple filling onto the widest part of each crescent triangle. Starting from the wide end, gently roll each triangle toward the point, pinching the sides together to seal. If any filling escapes, gently push it back inside. Repeat with all remaining triangles.

  7. Bake for 15 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown on the outside.

  8. Remove the rolls from the oven and allow them to cool for a few minutes while you prepare the glaze.

  9. In a small bowl, whisk together the room-temperature cream cheese and milk until smooth and pourable. Transfer the glaze to a small plastic bag and snip a tiny corner of the bag.

  10. Drizzle the cream cheese glaze generously over the cooled rolls. Serve warm or at room temperature. Extra glaze may be used as a dipping sauce.
