Ingredients
⅓ cup butter
1 small onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, chopped
2 pounds cabbage, cored and coarsely chopped
16 ounces potato gnocchi
2 cups fully cooked ham, cubed
salt
black pepper
Directions
Melt butter in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened and fragrant.
Add the chopped garlic to the skillet and cook for 1 minute more, until the aroma becomes pronounced.
Stir in the coarsely chopped cabbage and cook uncovered for 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage begins to soften and reduce in volume.
While the cabbage cooks, bring a separate large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the gnocchi according to package directions, usually 2-3 minutes after they float to the surface. Drain well.
Add the cooked gnocchi and cubed ham to the cabbage mixture. Stir gently to combine and cook for 2-3 minutes more until everything is heated through.
Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Serve hot.
