Ingredients

1/4 cup butter

2/3 cup evaporated milk

1 (7 ounce) jar marshmallow creme

2 cups milk chocolate chips

1/2 cup chopped nuts

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 1/2 cups white sugar

Directions

  1. Line an 8x8 inch baking pan with aluminum foil and set it aside.

  2. In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine the marshmallow creme, white sugar, evaporated milk, butter, and salt. Stir constantly as the mixture comes to a full boil, then continue cooking for 5 minutes while stirring continuously.

  3. Remove the saucepan from heat. Pour in both the semisweet chocolate chips and milk chocolate chips, stirring until all the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.

  4. Stir in the chopped nuts and vanilla extract until they are evenly distributed throughout the fudge mixture.

  5. Pour the fudge into the prepared foil-lined pan and allow it to cool and set completely before cutting into 9 pieces.

This is a straightforward fudge that uses pantry staples available at any Charlotte grocery chain—butter, sugar, evaporated milk, marshmallow creme, and chocolate chips are all standard stock at Harris Teeter, Food Lion, Kroger, and Walmart. The 30-minute claim is honest for a no-cook or minimal-heat candy recipe, though you need to account for cooling time if you intend to cut and serve it same-night. At roughly $0.50–0.70 per serving, it's cheap enough for a weeknight dessert or gift, and the marshmallow and evaporated milk keep it genuinely creamy without fussiness. The only minor friction is that nuts aren't specified by type or amount, which leaves room for substitution or omission—a non-issue, but worth noting.
