Crème de violette and maraschino liqueur will force a special trip to a liquor store beyond the grocery chains—not a casual weeknight grab, and the spirits alone run $40–$60 combined. Fresh lemon juice is easy enough at Harris Teeter or Food Lion, but the barrier is really the obscure liqueurs; gin and ice are everywhere. The drink itself mixes in five minutes flat, and one serving suits a solo evening or a planned cocktail hour rather than feeding a household. It does not keep: make it fresh or skip it.
