Ingredients
2 lb Jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
1 can Butter-flavored cooking spray
Directions
Preheat grill to medium-high heat (about 400°F). Pat shrimp dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
Place shrimp in a bowl and generously sprinkle Cajun seasoning over them, tossing gently to coat evenly on all sides.
Lightly spray the hot grill grates with butter-flavored cooking spray to prevent sticking.
Arrange seasoned shrimp on the grill in a single layer. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are opaque and lightly charred.
Flip shrimp carefully and spray lightly with additional butter-flavored cooking spray. Grill for another 2-3 minutes until the shrimp are cooked through (opaque throughout with an internal temperature of 145°F).
Transfer grilled shrimp to a serving plate and serve immediately while hot.
Comments
This is a genuinely easy weeknight shrimp dish for the Charlotte market, where the coast supplies fresh product year-round. Shrimp, Cajun seasoning, and cooking spray run about $8 to $10 total (roughly $3 per serving), and all three items are stocked at every major chain—Harris Teeter, Food Lion, Publix, Walmart, ALDI, and Kroger. The ten-minute window is honest if you start with thawed shrimp; the real constraint is that this is a same-night dish—it does not keep well—so it suits weeknight dinner when people eat right away, not meal prep.
