Ingredients
2 cups Fresh strawberries
11 ounces Canned mandarin orange sections
16 ounces Canned pears
1 cup Pineapple chunks in juice
1 cup Orange juice
¼ teaspoon Ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon Ground nutmeg
Directions
Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before beginning preparation.
Rinse the fresh strawberries under cool water and pat dry. Remove the stems and cut each strawberry in half lengthwise.
Open the can of mandarin orange sections. Pour the contents into a fine-mesh strainer and drain off the syrup completely, discarding the liquid.
Open the can of pears and pour into a fine-mesh strainer. Drain off all the liquid and discard. Cut the pears into bite-sized chunks or slices.
Open the can of pineapple chunks and do not drain—keep the fruit with its natural juice.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the undrained pineapple with its juice, the orange juice, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg. Stir until the spices are evenly distributed.
Gently fold in the drained mandarin orange sections, the sliced pears, and the halved strawberries, stirring carefully to combine without breaking the fruit.
Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 1 to 4 hours, allowing the flavors to meld and the fruit to chill thoroughly before serving.
